BetLedger is a self-tracking loss ledger for people trying to stop gambling. This policy describes what the app does with your information. The short version: there is no account, no server of ours, and your data does not leave your devices.
BetLedger has no user accounts, no login, no sign-up, and no backend operated by us. We cannot see your entries, because they are never sent to us.
Everything you enter is stored on your iPhone, and — if you have iCloud enabled — synced to your own private iCloud database, which only you can access. That includes:
If you are not signed in to iCloud, the app works normally and keeps everything locally on that device only.
This app holds money. Every amount in it is a number you typed, held as an exact decimal on your device. BetLedger does not connect to a bank, a card, a payment provider or a sportsbook. It imports no transactions, links no accounts, and reads nothing from anywhere. No currency amount is transmitted anywhere, by any route.
If you nominate someone, you type their name and number in yourself — the app does not read your address book and never asks for Contacts permission. That person's details stay on your device and in your own private iCloud. They are never uploaded, and there is no server to upload them to.
In this version, telling that person is entirely manual: the app composes a message and hands it to the iOS share sheet, and you send it. BetLedger never sends a message on your behalf, and it cannot see whether one was sent or replied to.
BetLedger does not read from or write to Apple Health, and has no camera or photo-library access. It does not ask for any of them.
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. There is no push server. The widgets and the ten-minute Live Activity read a small summary the app writes to its own shared container on the same device; the underlying ledger is never handed to them.
Settings → Face ID lock puts the whole app behind Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. Given what a gambling ledger contains, it is worth turning on if anyone else handles your phone.
The app does not track you across apps or websites, does not use advertising identifiers, and contains no advertising. No third-party analytics or attribution SDK is bundled in the current release. If that ever changes, this page and the app's App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before the release ships, and no currency amount, book name, contact name or phone number would ever be included in any analytics payload.
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. We never see or handle your payment details. Apple provides us only aggregate, anonymised sales reporting.
BetLedger is a ledger. It records what you enter and does arithmetic on it. This app does not block, restrict or prevent access to anything. It contains no odds feeds, no live lines, no game schedules, and no sportsbook or casino names, logos, links or affiliate links. It is not medical advice and is not treatment.
Deleting the app removes its data from that device. To remove synced data from iCloud, use iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, and delete BetLedger's data. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for us to delete on our side, and no account to close.
BetLedger is rated 17+ and is not directed to children.
