Hands Off is a tracking and habit-reversal app for body-focused repetitive behaviours such as skin picking, nail biting and hair pulling.
Email support@xuranium.com. One person reads that address, so expect a reply in a couple of working days rather than instantly.
If something went wrong, it helps to say which iPhone and which iOS version you are on, what you tapped, and what happened instead. Please do not attach your progress photographs. They are never needed to diagnose a problem, and email is not a private channel.
Hands Off has no sign-up, no login and no password, so there is nothing to recover and nothing to reset. It also means we cannot look anything up for you: your episodes and photographs are on your own device and in your own iCloud, never on a server of ours. The Privacy Policy sets out the detail.
Cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Hands Off → Cancel Subscription, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. You do not need the app to cancel and you do not need to email us first.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Cancelling during the 7-day free trial means you are not charged. The free tier keeps working after a subscription ends, and your logged data is not deleted.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us: support.apple.com/billing.
New phone, or reinstalled the app? Open the subscription screen in the app and tap Restore purchase, signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with.
Progress photographs are taken with the camera and written straight into the app's own private storage. The app does not ask for access to your photo library and does not add anything to it, so the pictures do not appear in Photos. You can put the photo timeline behind Face ID or your passcode in Settings.
If you denied camera access and want to allow it, it is in iOS Settings → Hands Off → Camera. The rest of the app works without it.
Settings → Export can hand you a CSV of your episode log, and can export your photo timeline, both through the iOS share sheet.
Deleting the app removes its data, photographs included, from that device. To remove the synced copy, go to iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage and delete Hands Off's data. Because we never receive any of it, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and no account to close.
Hands Off is a self-tracking and educational tool. It is not medical advice, not a medical device, and not a substitute for a clinician. Severe or worsening picking or pulling is worth raising with a real one.
